The extensive range of trees and shrubs at Arley Arboretum has
been catalogued for many years.
The first catalogue was called "Hortus Arleyensis", and was
published in 1907. It lists a vast range of trees and shrubs and details
the height and girth of each one. Sadly, all but two of the original number
tags are lost.
You can carry out a simple search of the current catalogue of trees and
shrubs from here. Search for a 'common' name, or by a latin name, or use
parts of words to find matches. You can search for records containing
certain words or letters, or begining or ending with them, (e.g. 'fag'
or 'weep', or 'cerris' or 'ing'). You can also call for a complete listing
of the catalogue (400 records!). Enter your search term, chose the
search type, and click 'go'!
